  Las Ramblas...Dilworth - Tapas. Yum! Flat bread pizzas. Spanish wines are excellant. Can't go wrong with ethereal scallops, the hanger steak or the Queso de Cabra Frita...a fired goat cheese with roasted garlic and olives with quince honey.
  Luce Ristorante...Uptown - Great Northern Italian food. Wine list is excellent! My favorite for Italian.
  Lulu...Plaza-Midwood off Central - Open 7 days a week...playful menu, ingredients that span heirloom history...funky decor and location. Priced to accommodate just about anybody. I like this place already just by reading the menu. Try it!
  Lupie's Cafe - Comfort food! NOT expensive. Huge protions. Ask for a "Gee-Wiz"! Daily specials. Monday is Meat Loaf with home made mashed potatoes...get there early! Try the homemade chili, the burgers, or the Mac & Cheese.
  Mac's Speed Shop...Barbecue...SouthEnd - Beer, bikes, and barbecue! Sibling to the fancy "Bontera" and "Ratcliff on the Green". Wings are smoked, grilled and, I think, are "the best" in town. Pulled "Q" and Ribs are good too! Try the Mac-n-cheese, green bean caserole & onion rings. Has won all kinds of awards for the brisket too! Huge beer selection. Eat inside or out. Get there early, they get very busy.

  Leconte Lodge...near Gatlinburg - Overnight guests are very special people. Only way to reach the lodge is by hiking. There are 5 trails. Shortest/steepest Alum Cave Trail is 5 1/2 miles, or 4 hours. None of the trails can be considered a stroll. Occasionally encounter ice & snow as late as May or as early as October. Other trails: Rainbow Falls and Trillium Gap, each 6.5 miles, a hike of 5 hours; Bullhead at 7.2 miles is 5 hours; and Boulevard, 8 miles and about 5 1/2 hours. Park at the start of each trail.
